Guru Purnima A Gratitude to the Gurus

Published On: July 10, 2025

With divine blessings from Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan and in the presence of our revered saints, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Vidyanagar, joyfully celebrated Guru Purnima on 10 July 2025. This sacred occasion honors those who illuminate our lives with wisdom and devotion—our true guides.

The celebration began with soulful Dhun and Kirtan, followed by Poojan and compassionate Shloka recitation, symbolizing its spiritual depth. Students expressed their reverence through a graceful Guru Vandana dance, inspiring speeches, a heartfelt skit, and a powerful video presentation titled “All Credit Goes to Guru,” all underscoring the invaluable impact of their Gurus.

Director Nandan Sir delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the mentor’s role in shaping one’s life journey. In a touching finale, students formed the word “GURU” on the ground—a visual testament to their deep gratitude and respect.

This festival, observed on the full moon of Ashadha, commemorates the birth of Sage Veda Vyasa, revered as the fountainhead of spiritual wisdom. Beyond academic teachers, it honors all spiritual mentors—a theme celebrated across Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain traditions.

Guru Purnima—also known as Vyasa Purnima—marks a time of profound gratitude. It calls us to pause, reflect, and honor those who guide us from darkness to light. At SGIS, our celebration was more than an event—it was a living tribute to our Gurus’ unwavering love, wisdom, and guidance. May this day remain etched in our hearts as a beacon of humility, devotion, and lifelong learning.
