On 5th July 2025, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Belagola, Near Mysore brought a delightful twist to sports with its creatively themed Rainy Day Sports Event. Held amidst light showers and playful puddles, this unique celebration for Grades 1 to 4 blended fun, fitness, and festivity, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of young Gurukulites.
With over 290 students participating in the event turned into a colourful spectacle of raincoats, umbrellas, and radiant smiles. Students enthusiastically took part in rain-themed games, designed to embrace the rainy weather while building physical agility and team spirit. From umbrella races to splashy obstacle courses, the excitement was contagious and the laughter, unstoppable.
What made the event truly memorable was its setting — games were played in the open while it gently rained, with students gleefully donning their raincoats and holding umbrellas. This not only made the day engaging and enjoyable but also broke the monotony of routine indoor activities, turning nature into a playground. The message was clear — no weather is too wet when hearts are full of enthusiasm!
More than just a sports day, the Rainy Day Sports Event was a celebration of resilience, positivity, and childlike joy, showing how students can find happiness in every drop of rain. Events like these play a crucial role in shaping well-rounded personalities by encouraging physical development, emotional bonding, and a playful attitude towards challenges.
Gurukul Mysore demonstrated its commitment to holistic education, nurturing young minds not just academically but through joyful, real-life experiences that connect learning with the world around them.
